My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Mizuno Japanese Restaurant last night. We were seated immediately and greeted just a few minutes later. The atmosphere felt classy, upscale, and perfect for a nice date night. We started with the Mizuno Crudo, which was incredibly flavorful and refreshing, I’d highly recommend starting with that. I ordered the sashimi, and my husband had the teriyaki chicken along with the Tuna Crunchy Crunchy Roll. The quality was phenomenal. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and the portions were generous. The teriyaki chicken was especially impressive, so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The only thing we weren’t huge fans of was the fried rice. Compared to how vibrant and flavorful everything else was, it just felt a little underwhelming. They also had some great dessert options, but after all of that food, we were absolutely stuffed. Their cocktails looked amazing too, so we’re already looking forward to coming back and trying those next time!

I’ve been craving good sushi like I’ve had in NYC and have tried so many places with no luck. This is a very vibey establishment with great ambiance and customer service. The food is pretty good. My lychee martini was unbelievable!

On par with some of the world's best sushi! The salmon nigiri was reminiscent of the sake toro I'd order all the time in Japan. Mizuno is far superior to any of the other sushi joints in Virginia Beach. Presentation was beautiful and the staff were all very friendly. The pricing trends towards the higher end but is well worth it. Definitely our new favorite spot to get high quality, great and fresh tasting sushi.

It almost feels like you are going into a secret castle that no one else sees. At first when you are driving by you would NEVER EVER in a million years realize that you are in one of Hampton Roads ABSOLUTE BEST Japanese restaurants by far! Everything is so fresh, and the staff is super friendly. One dish after the other would come out and we were both impressed at how delicious everything was. Not many places here in the states have ever made me feel like they matched the quality of a Japanese (in Japan) restaurant, but this place right here hits the mark!!! We are definitely are going to be comeback over and over again. Oh, one bit of advice, #1 dress up, you'll thank me later. #2, make a reservation, place fills up fast so be early and enjoy.

Good service and ambience, small romantic sushi place. I am allergic to seafood, so I really appreciated their fantastic Angus beef negima and Mr. Bean Roll! Drinks were very good, especially the plumtini. My wife enjoyed her California Roll as well. House salad and creme brûlée were standard, good. Overall a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend!
